A smaller website can still have a considered foundation. The useful question is what a customer needs to understand before they enquire, book or pick up the phone. The platform follows that job, along with how the business wants to keep the site current.
Keep the content at the centre.
Astro is a useful option for content-led websites: service pages, project stories, practical guides and focused campaign pages. We can turn shared structures into reusable components and add interactive pieces where they help.
Our own development site uses Astro with Cloudflare Pages and GitHub. That gives us a working preview and a record of the changes and checks around a release. It is an example of our workflow, rather than a requirement for every client site.
The preparation makes the build useful.
The KD approach begins with the business knowledge, existing material and customer questions. We use that to develop a page structure, draft the content and decide what needs emphasis.
Our FX foundations carry the visual rules into the build: type, spacing, colour, components and considered motion. Shared rules help the next page feel connected to the first. They still need to be applied with care, as a real content review often exposes things a blank component cannot.
Decide how updates will happen.
A coded marketing website can be a good fit when updates are handled through an agreed support workflow. A team publishing every week may need a content-management system from the beginning.
We agree the editing approach, source and account ownership, enquiry route and ongoing care before treating the platform as settled. A quick launch is useful when the result can keep doing its job after handover.
